First we have a small annecdote, especially for parents. followed by a few quotes that I found appropriate.

I was having trouble with my computer.
So I called Eric, the 11 year old next door whose bedroom looks like
Mission Control, and asked him to come over.
Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.

As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong?'
He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.'
I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, 'An, ID ten T
error?  What's that?  In case I need to fix it again.'
Eric grinned ... 'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?'
'No,'  I replied.
'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.'

So I wrote it down:  I D 1 0 T

I used to like Eric, the little B..............

I do love this, my children say it's me
all over!

Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

What a blessing it would be if we could open and shut our ears, as easily as we open and shut our eyes!

I would be the most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.

It is not giving children more that spoils them; it is giving them more to avoid confrontation.

Level with your child by being honest. Nobody spots a phony quicker than a child.

Any great truth can -- and eventually will -- be expressed as a cliche -- a cliche is a sure and certain way to dilute an idea. For instance, my grandmother used to say, 'The black cat is always the last one off the fence.' I have no idea what she meant, but at one time, it was undoubtedly true.

Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen

Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people.

To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer.

If you put tomfoolery into a computer, nothing comes out of it but tomfoolery. But this tomfoolery, having passed through a very expensive machine, is somehow ennobled and no-one dares criticize it.

If the motorcar had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost 100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

There are admirable potentialities in every human being. Believe in your strength and your youth. Learn to repeat endlessly to yourself, 'It all depends on me.'
